The organisation of retraining and professional development courses is carried out in accordance with regulatory documents governing educational activities in military educational institutions. In particular, these activities are conducted in compliance with the Order of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine “On the Organisation and Conduct of Professional Military Education Courses and Professional Development Courses in Higher Military Educational Institutions, Military Training Units of Higher Education Institutions, and Institutions of Professional Pre-Higher Military Education”, as well as the Catalogue of Professional Development Courses (additional training and retraining) in higher military educational institutions, military training units of higher education institutions, and institutions of professional pre-higher military education.

The purpose of the Retraining and Professional Development Courses (RPDC) is to enhance the professional training of military personnel, ensure continuous professional development, support career advancement of service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civil servants of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and facilitate staffing of positions in military command bodies, military units, and institutions.

Main areas of activity of the RPDC:

  • training of tactical-level officers of the Information Protection Service;
  • professional development in radio-electronic reconnaissance;
  • professional development in the employment of military space systems;
  • professional development in the employment of tactical unmanned aerial systems;
  • professional development of specialists in the processing of specialised information obtained from unmanned aerial vehicles;
  • professional development in the operation and maintenance of unmanned aerial systems;
  • professional development in the organisation and support of special radio communications;
  • professional development in information protection, security regime organisation, classified records management and documentation procedures;
  • professional development in technical information protection and counter-technical intelligence measures;
  • professional development in cryptographic information protection;
  • professional development in the organisation of electronic (electromagnetic) warfare;
  • professional development in information-analytical activities;
  • professional development of specialists of Information and Psychological Operations Centres;
  • professional development (additional training and retraining) of officers recruited for military service from the reserve under contract or by mobilisation;
  • professional development (additional training and retraining) of officers of Operational Reserve No. 1 and No. 2 and personnel of military units restoring combat capability;
  • methodological training course;
  • professional development (additional training and retraining) for sergeant and senior sergeant positions requiring an appropriate level of education, according to the following training specialisations (operation of radio-technical systems and electronic warfare equipment; protection of restricted information within the Armed Forces; operation of radio-electronic reconnaissance equipment; operation of special reconnaissance radio communication systems);
  • professional development in educational activities;
  • professional development in methodological competence.
