The Department of Foreign Languages provides comprehensive language instruction to the Institute's cadets, fostering advanced proficiency in both the national and foreign languages. The core mission aligns directly with the contemporary requirements for the professional linguistic training of future Armed Forces of Ukraine officers. To achieve this, cadet language instruction is deeply rooted in national educational standards while strictly adhering to NATO STANAG 6001 proficiency guidelines.

The academic staff works closely with faculties to cultivate a holistic academic environment. This collaboration is designed to build character and leadership integrity, recognizes top-performing cadets, and provides targeted academic intervention for those requiring additional support. Annually, the academic staff prepares top-performing cadets to compete in various academic events, including national Olympiads in Ukrainian and English,  Taras Shevchenko Language and Literature Competition,  Petro Yatsyk International Competition, and the Institute’s own scholarly conferences.

The Department successfully applies advanced teaching methodologies across its programs for both regular cadets and specialized course attendees. The academic staff delivers rigorous practical coursework using established international curricula – such as the American Language Course, Campaign, and Command English – supported by state-of-the-art multimedia facilities. Beyond utilizing existing resources, the academic staff actively authors specialized textbooks and customized instructional manuals tailored to specific military operational needs.

Committed to continuous professional growth, the Department regularly participates in fellowships and advanced training programs at premier institutions across Ukraine and internationally, including the United States (San Antonio), Germany (Garmisch-Partenkirchen), Canada (Ottawa), Poland (Warsaw), and Hungary (Budapest). Finally, the seamless execution of our educational programs is made possible by the technical expertise and dedication of the Department's laboratory and support personnel.
